Former Vice President of the United States Mike Pence has testified for more
than seven hours before a federal grand jury as part of the two-year criminal
investigation into alleged efforts by former President Donald Trump to overturn
his defeat in the 2020 election.
Pence was issued with a subpoena to testify under oath earlier this year and
his appearance comes after an appeals court rejected a
last-ditch bid by Trump's legal team to stop him from testifying.
Prosecutors will likely have asked Pence about his interactions with Trump and
his team in the days and weeks leading up to the Capitol riot on January 6,
2021. |
