Race against time to evacuate British Nationals in Sudan As the ceasefire ends
in Sudan, the UK Foreign Office is under pressure to evacuate as many British
passport holders as possible.
It is feared that this is a race against time, circumstances, and numbers.
Though it has already evacuated 536 people on six flights, the Foreign
Secretary, James Cleverly, has candidly said that “we cannot guarantee how many
further flights will depart once the ceasefire ends”.
Despite being accused of being too slow, the government is hopeful that
things are going as well as could be hoped for, without
jeopardizing the safety of the rescuers or the rescued. |
