A Day at White Horse Lake

It was an exceptionally hot day when my father, my brother, and I decided to go to White Horse Lake near our community to cast fishing nets. The water quality there was excellent and it was a haven for grass carp.

After casting the net, my father suggested that we try to catch river clams in the water. My brother and I strongly objected as we were not good swimmers. My father had no choice but to jump into the water with special shoes for clam-catching and swim to the center of the lake.

I sat on a large rock by the lake, enjoying the cool breeze. But as I stepped on the slippery moss, I slipped and fell into the water with a "splash". I always thought that the water with clams must be very deep, so I struggled in the water, fighting against it. When I was about to give up, I heard my father, who was soaking his head in the water, laugh at me and say, "Why don't you try standing up? Haha, haha." I stood up and realized that the water only reached my waist. Seeing this, I couldn't help but laugh.

The water plants tickled my feet, but the silky water caressed my skin and made me feel very comfortable. I loved this feeling, so I encouraged my brother to come down and enjoy it too. But before I could finish my sentence, my brother had already splashed into the water, creating high splashes.

On the water surface, there were tender water chestnuts floating lazily, swaying gently with the wind as they grew. It was a beautiful scene.

I loved soaking in the water, enjoying the sun and listening to my father's joy at catching clams and my brother's laughter while playing in the water.

In the summer, there's nothing better than soaking in the water and enjoying life.
